Wonder Woman Movie Casting

Here’s a little known fact about me (if you don’t already know me): I am a huge comic book fan! I don’t actually collect them or anything, I just have always loved the excitement of the superheroes and villains, the supernatural powers and graphic art associated with comics. I also love anything “girl power” related, which comics have a lot of. Sure, there are always the damsels in distress in comics – the girls who need constant rescuing by a hero – but there are also a lot of kick ass girls who don’t go overlooked in comics. Batgirl, Supergirl, Black Widow, Tank Girl, Catwoman, Storm, Rogue, and my absolute favorite: Wonder Woman.

When I heard some time last year that they would finally be making a major motion picture based on the DC superstar that is Wonder Woman, I just about died y’all! How long have we all been waiting?? Decades. I immediately started brainstorming who I thought should play the fantastic leading lady in the film, which brought me to the topic of this blog post: Who should play Wonder Woman? I have a few opinions on who our fearless heroine should be, and here they are…

Evangeline Lilly

When I first started watching Lost years ago, the idea of “Kate” as Wonder Woman crept in to my mind. To me Evangeline Lilly is the only choice for Wonder Woman and I can see her effortlessly pulling off all of the things WW stands for: strength, justice, and femininity.

Gina Carano

This brawny beauty got her start as a mixed martial artist and kicked some major butt in the film Haywire a few years ago. She’s been an American Gladiator, a model and actress, but I’m afraid she may be a little too rough around the edges to portray WW. A lot of people like her for the role though, so we’ll see!

Lynn Collins

Lynn Collins is no stranger to action roles based on her work in X-Men Originals: Wolverine and John Carter. She’s young and has the fresh face that may be just what a WW revamp could use.

I can’t wait to see things develop in the creation of Wonder Woman, and there is even talk about a WW (and other members of the Justice League!) sneak peek in the upcoming film Man of Steel.
